Descompassos entre texto de partida e sua tradução: manutenção e reconfiguração de sentidos

Resumo

This paper investigates the Brazilian Portuguese (BP) translation of the Spanish sequences formed by an auxiliary verb, the verb poner (to put) in past participle, with the acceptation of to get dressed, and an object of the clothing category, as in Él tiene puesto un sombrero. The excerpts come from the original version of Strange Pilgrims and a translated one in BP. The aim is to apply the prototypicality and prominence concepts to the analysis of the data collected in both languages. The theoretical assumptions are based upon Cognitive Linguistics findings, especially upon Rosch (1975; 1978) and Lakoff (1987).
