« L’AFFAIRE DSK » PAR REGIS JAUFFRET ET ABEL FERRARA

Aurelien Gras

Resumo

This article attempts to analyze the treatment of " the affair DSK " by the novelist Régis Jauffret and the film-maker Abel Ferrara. The Ballad of Rikers Island transforms the protagonists of the news item, Dominque Strauss-Kahn, Naffisatou Diallo and Anne Sinclair into archetypal faces figures, what participates of male domination’s (and racial’s) denunciation which presides over the literary project of Jauffret. Welcome to New York, on the contrary, shows a certain indulgence towards DSK. It minimizes a bit his exactions, in particular by the work of framing, pictorial presence and by one "folding" by the narrative structure. So that Ferrara almost rehabilitates DSK, but it is by mixing him in Gérard Depardieu's figure to which he pays tribute by references to his prestigious past with Pialat and Truffaut.
