Art e manera. Le système de l’Art des arts du Libre de contemplació de Raymond Lulle

Abstract

This research investigates both the ancient tradition and the medieval tradition of a de nition of philosophy – Art of the arts and Science of the sciences, and how they evolved over time. Ramon Llull’s new Art of Arts was developed from the «Art of Contemplation in God» (Liber contemplationis), which is the rst encyclopedic Art of Llull. This rst General Art of Llull contains many speci c approaches through which Llull applies his rst Art, both to the liberal arts and to the mechanical ones. Therefore, Llull sensually and intellectually contemplates any and every rung of the ladder of creatures. The rst General Art of Llull is well suited to the invention of all the speci c arts. It reshapes the de nition of the Art of Arts and makes it really general.

Resumo

Esta pesquisa investiga a tradição antiga e medieval de uma de nição de loso a -arte das artes e da ciência das ciências-, como ela evoluiu ao longo do tempo e o seu relacionamento com a nova «arte das artes» de Raimundo Lúlio, que foi desenvolvida a partir da «Arte da Contemplação» (Liber contemplationis), e que é a primeira arte enciclopédica de Lúlio. Aquela primeira arte «geral» contém muitos modos especí cos nos quais Lúlio aplica a sua primeira arte nas artes liberais e mecânicas. Portanto Lúlio, sensual e intelectualmente, contempla qualquer degrau da escada das criaturas. A primeira arte é bem adequada para a invenção de todas as artes especí cas. Lúlio remodela a de nição de arte das artes e torna a sua realmente geral.
