Libros y Lecturas en el Convento de las Madres Agustinas Recolectas de Salamanca (Siglos XVI-XVII)

Resumo

This article, being published before other larger ones currently in preparation, purports to study the contents of a typical library in a convent of nuns, using, as a point of departure, the books presently found in the library of Convento de La Purísima Concepción in Salamanca. To that end, the bibliographical list of its holdings (16th_18th Centuries) as well as a physical description of the state of conservation of these books will be presented. All of this should serve as a basis for drawing meaningful conclusions as  to  the reading habits and interest of  this Community of cloistered Agustinian nuns.
