O objecto e o âmbito da justiça social

Diogo Carneiro

Abstract

In this talk I explore what should be the subject and the scope of a theory of justice. The possibility to design principles of justice that can yield a just society is dependent on the answer to the aforementioned issue. In this way, I consider and evaluate the theories of Nozick (libertarian), Rawls (egalitarian) and Walzer (communitarian) in what concerns the subject and the scope of justice. I conclude by trying to give an answer to the question: what should the subject and the scope of a theory of justice be?
