Instructions for Authors

Original articles are welcome about any aspect of translation, including: descriptive studies of translated texts in different languages, periods, cultures and media; theoretical papers about ranslational issues; papers dealing with the practice of translation in different domains (technical, pragmatic, literary, scientific, legal, audiovisual etc); interpreting; translator training and translation pedagogy; research methods in Translation Studies; translation technology, etc. All articles will be blind reviewed by members of the Academic Advisory Board or external specialists. Articles should be 6000-8000 words long (including notes and references).

Book reviews of 1000-1500 words are also welcome of recent publications in the field of translation.

Articles and book reviews should be uploaded onto the Translation Matters editorial system together with an Abstract (150 words) and short Biographical Note (50 words). The Author’s full name, affiliation and email contacts should be provided.

The text should be double-spaced and use a 12-point font. Italics should be used for emphasis, rather than underlining (except for URL addresses). Figures and tables should be inserted into the text, rather than provided at the end in the form of annexes.

All other formatting should be in accordance with the Harvard Style. See:

Como parte do processo de submissão, os autores são obrigados a verificar a conformidade da submissão em relação a todos os itens listados a seguir. As submissões que não estiverem de acordo com as normas serão devolvidas aos autores.

1. The contribution is original and unpublished and is not reviewed or published by another journal. Otherwise, it should be justified in "Comments to the Editor".
2. Submission files are in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RTF format (provided they do not exceed 2MB)
3. URLs for references were provided when available.

4. The text should be double-spaced and use a 12-point font. Italics should be used for emphasis, rather than underlining (except for URL addresses). Figures and tables should be inserted into the text, rather than provided at the end in the form of annexes.
